While out on my bike in August this year, cycling through the village of Birtsmorton in Worcestershire, I spider-gate; a gate wrought out of iron bars and welded in the fashion of a spider’s web. Unique perhaps.
This gate offers a connection between the private land of the cottage garden and the public land of the highway.
A barrier becomes a connection.
Not sure the spiders web could be anything but a trap.

Come into my parlour . . .
….said the arachnid to the Musca domestica….
Gosh, you’ve broken my dream. Was dreaming my house was filled with giant spiders and they were resisting being sucked up the hoover nozzle. They would have been big enough to make a web like that.
It might not be too late to find some conkers. If you can find some, distribute them around the house, bathrooms included and they will deter spiders, Large and small. Great image you describe…
